The Journey to Becoming a Recognized Catholic High School

We are incredibly grateful to Bishop Hying for his unwavering support.

His enthusiasm for our new Classical Catholic High School, set to open its doors in Fall 2024, has been a true blessing to us and our community.

In this post, we aim to clarify the school's journey towards becoming a recognized Catholic High School, highlighting the crucial role played by Bishop Hying in this endeavor.

The Path to Becoming a Catholic High School

To be officially recognized as a Catholic institution, organizations need permission from their Bishop. Since we are not a diocesan school, this permission is essential to ensure that the institution aligns with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church. In April 2023, a significant milestone was achieved for us when Bishop Donald Hying granted his approval for Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs to call itself a Catholic high school. This approval was a testament to the school's commitment to providing a quality Catholic education while upholding the values of the Catholic faith.

Bishop Hying's Support

Bishop Hying's support has been unwavering from the beginning. He recognized the importance of the school's mission and has continuously taken time to gain a deeper understanding of the school's vision, values, and commitment to Catholic education. It is important to express gratitude to Bishop Hying for his continued support of Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs. His dedication to ensuring quality Catholic education in the diocese is commendable, and his approval has been a significant step in the school's journey.

The Commitment to Quality Catholic Education

One of the key factors that has made Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs stand out is its unwavering commitment to providing a high-quality Catholic education that forms students’ minds and hearts in the image of Christ. By combining solid faith formation and self-disciple in our academics, our students can develop personal responsibility and cultivate virtue rooted in truth. In this way, students realize their potential, grow in their humanity, and become the people God created them to be. We are greatly edified to join Bishop Hying in this mission of expanding the availability of a high quality, Catholic, high school education to ever more families.

Moving Forward

The formal process to be listed as a Catholic School in the directory will continue as the school prepares to open its doors in the fall of 2024.

While the diocese continues to support us on this journey we want to communicate that we are an independent school. What does that mean?

There has been some confusion about Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs’ status as a school within the diocese. It's important to note that we do not receive any funding from the state of Wisconsin or the diocese of Madison. This school is truly being built by the community, and your support means the world to us.

We humbly ask that you prayerfully consider supporting our mission. Your contributions will help us provide a strong foundation of faith and education for our students. Together, we can make a profound impact on their lives and our community.
