Gratitude, Celebration & Blessings

A recap of our special event for founders, and the inaugural students and their families held Sunday, August 25.

This past Sunday was a day filled with gratitude, celebration, and blessings as our Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs community came together for a truly special event. We had the honor of hosting Mass and Brunch with the Bishop, a day dedicated to giving thanks to our Founders and recognizing the incredible contributions of our staff, families, and supporters.

The day began with a beautiful Mass celebrated by Bishop Hying, who has been a steadfast supporter of our mission from the very beginning. His presence and prayers were a source of great encouragement as we prepare for our inaugural year. We were also blessed to have him bless our classrooms, a meaningful way to mark the start of what promises to be an extraordinary school year.

Following the Mass, Ms. Pankow, our esteemed Head of School, delivered a heartfelt speech that resonated with everyone in attendance. She eloquently highlighted the tremendous impact our founders have made on our community. Their financial support has been the cornerstone of Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs, especially given that we receive no funding from the state or diocese, and tuition only covers a fraction of the cost to educate each student. Ms. Pankow expressed deep gratitude to our founding families for their leap of faith in enrolling their students in a brand-new school. It’s not an easy decision, but without these brave leaders, our school wouldn’t exist.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has donated and continues to support our mission. Your generosity is what keeps our doors open, ensuring that future generations will have access to an affordable Catholic education. This vital work wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering support of our community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of this journey with us.

As we move forward, we carry the blessings of Bishop Hying, the encouragement of our founders, and the unwavering support of our community with us. What a wonderful way to kick off the school year!
